5 Ways to make your Business Cards Stand Out
In today’s tough world what sets you and your brand different for your competition? First impressions count and when you meet the customer for the very first time you will most likely exchange business cards. So the question becomes how does your business card reflect your unique opportunity that you bring to the table? Does your business card give you a unique advantage? After all, your first meeting will determine if you will have a new customer or just wasted sales call. In Asia, when you present your business card you hold the card with both hands as a sign of respect and give it away as a precision item. You also do not write on the card as you are to treat a business card the same as you would the person handing it to you.  Whereas in North America, most people give very little thought to their business card (and treatment of it) other than colour or logo design. So we have come up with some great options to make sure your business card is a step above: 1. Printed Front and Back There is no reason why you shouldn’t have a double sided business card. For the small extra cost of printing two sides, you get so much more space to market your products and services. Think of having one sided business cards as a missed sales opportunity (plus it can make you look cheap). 2. Double ThickDouble Thick refers to having paper that is double as thick as the regular card stock business cards are printed on. The method involves mounting two sheets of paper together. 3. Velvet/Soft Touch Lamination FilmThis lamination film really gives off a velvety feel and has become increasingly popular. When connecting with a customer you really want to involve as many senses as possible to increase the chances that they will remember you. 4. Foil Stamping Nothing says high class like adding some shine to your business cards. Today foil can be applied in many different ways and in any colour imaginable. 5. Custom Shapes Who says that business cards have to be rectangular? Why not think outside of the box and come up with a shape that better describes your business (even if the end result is just adding rounded corners to the original rectangular design). Every time your customer sees or holds that card, it gives you an immediate advantage. Make sure that advantage makes your business shine above the rest and make sure your business card gives your customer the right impression long after you have left. And keep in mind business card etiquette is different in other countries.
