Most Secure:

1. Perfect Binding – This method roughs up the ends of your paper and then applies glue to them, giving you a superior adhesion. This means that once your document is bound, it is not coming unbound. You can, of course, rip the paper out, but it will leave evidence that there was something there that isn’t there anymore.
2. Thermal Binding – Thermal Binding also uses glue to get your page to stick but without the extra step of roughening. The glue will still stop anyone from pulling sheets out without leaving evidence behind.
3. Fastback Tape Binding – This is another glue binding method (do you see a trend?). These tape strips have glue on them and attach themselves to your chosen covers and document. Although the method is slightly different, the same principle applies, you cannot cleanly remove a sheet of paper from this type of book.

Fastest Growing Market*:

1. Wire-O – Maybe it’s because of the growing popularity with modern stainless steel decor or maybe it’s because this method is so easy to use, but Wire-O has been gaining a lot of traction over the years. Making this method the fastest growing.
2. Fastback Tape Bindings – With this movement towards everything modern, people are looking for cleaner lines without having to bother with melting glue. That’s where Tape Bindings has made a name for itself. With no punching needed, glue already on the tape/spine and an easy-to-use machine, this method comes in at our #2 spot.
3. Plastic Coil – What can we say about Plastic Coil that hasn’t already been said? People love the fact that the book lay flats and can rotate 360°. Plus with so many variations available, it is still a very hot on the market.

Ability to Re-Use:

1. Plastic Bindings – There is a reason this binding method has been in the marketplace as long as it has. Plastic Bindings allow you to re-use the bindings as many times as you want by simply opening and closing the combs or ‘teeth.’
2. PinchBooks – This brand of photo book allows you to change the ‘block’ or sheets inside as many times as you want in less than a minute. That’s because there is no glue attaching your pictures to the book, just a simple pinching function holding it together.
3. Chicago Screws – Like the name implies, all you have to do is screw them in or out whenever you want to re-use them, no machine required. It truly is as simple as righty-tighty, lefty-loosey.

These covers come in a variety of materials, can be foil stamped or silkscreened and can even be digitally printed for a completely custom book.
2. Thermal Binding – Thermal Covers can be made of virtually any material. It can be foil stamped, silkscreened, 4-colour processed or even digitally printed. Clear or frosted covers can be added to the front or back (those can also be imprinted) and you can even add a window.
3. Fastbind Photobook – Fastbind Tacking Sheets allow you to print anything you want onto them from your copier and then use them to create your own custom hardcover book. The best part is, you don’t need any gluing machines to create these covers and it can all be done in-house.
