As lockdown restriction start to lessen through out the Country, it is important to make sure that your Company is prepared for people entering the building once more. Here are some tips on how to plan for back to work after COVID 19.
Stock up on PPE
PPE is here to stay. So it is important to equip everyone in your office with a
sanitizer pump on their desk as well as frequently visited areas (like reception and lunchroom). Keep
masks on hand to give out to both employees and customers who might have come unprepared. 3 layer masks are recommended whether they are disposable or washable.
Increase Cleaning Protocols
Cleaning protocols are going to have to be increased in order to keep everyone at work safe. This means cleaning frequently touched areas like door handles, microwaves, coffee machines, etc. multiple times a day. Every desk and work station should also have their own set of
wipes to wipe down their own area at the end of every day or shift change.
Clean the Air
How clean in the air in your office space? It might be worthwhile to get an
air purifier as they can filter pollutants such as fine dusts, pollen and acarid allergens, pathogens such as bacteria and mold spores, cigarette smoke, exhaust fumes, chemical vapors and odors from indoor air.
Make Everyone Comfortable
Not everyone will be coming back to the office. If you have not already done so, make sure that the people who will continue to work from home are not only comfortable, but also have the
right supplies and equipment to do their job efficiently and effectively.
Plan for Sick Time
With less people in the office, it makes it even more important to cross train your staff. The threat of COVID 19 (as well as regular illnesses like the flu and colds) are still among us, which means workers can potentially be gone for 2 weeks or more. Make sure you have more than one back up for each job and have a set of comprehensive training manuals so that even if someone is away, the job can still be done easily.
