Tuesday May 11th 2021 is National Denim Day in Canada. This event was created by the CURE Foundation and this year the Foundation is celebrating their 25th Anniversary. “CURE Foundation has been powering the fight against breast cancer by investing in programs for prevention and early detection, improving treatment and supporting patients and their families.”¹
By the Numbers
Did you know that 15,000 companies have participated in National Denim Day as well as approximately 1,561,357 employees? There have also been an additional 3,400 schools who have also participated. To date over 6 million pink ribbons have been handed out in support.²
Over the past 25 years, CURE Foundation has financed more than 29 community projects, 26 research projects and has donated 29 pieces of medical equipment to hospitals across Canada.²
Additional Assistance
National Demin Day is not the only CURE Foundation fundraiser. In 2018 The CURE Foundation launched its first annual Costumes for CURE Halloween party extravaganza to raise funds for a new program; The CURE Foundation's Emergency Financial Assistance Program. Since then, CURE has raised much needed funds to meet the needs of breast cancer patients who are going through hard times. The Foundation believes that breast cancer patients should focus on their recovery and not the stress of a financial burden.³
This year to help celebrate their 25th Anniversary, Southwest will be donating a portion of our Sales on May 11th to CURE Foundation and National Denim Day. You can help too by participating in National Denim Day (and donating $5) as well as by placing your supply and equipment orders on May 11th 2021.
