How to Make Your Laminated Documents Stand Out
Laminating documents and photographs is an excellent way to make them last longer. Have you ever thought about ways you might make them stand out? If the answer is yes, you’ll be glad to know there are several things you can try. Here are a few ways to make your laminated documents stand out:

Use Matte or Velvet Film

The standard for the majority of laminating films and pouches is glossy. To make your work stand out, matte or velvet laminate is a great way to do so. Matte film will give your documents a more natural look (and you don’t have to worry about glare in sunny or highly lit areas). Whereas Velvet Touch sticks better to sheets with a lot of ink (thanks to the addition of superstick technology), gives an even matter finish, plus it feels very luxurious.

Trim Excess Film

There are plenty of laminating pouches that are the right size for various documents, and sometimes excess laminate surrounds your items. If this happens, take a few minutes to trim away the extra film. You can use a pair of scissors, a craft knife, or a rotary trimmer to make sure you get a perfectly straight cut every time.

Adjust the Machine's Settings

Are your laminated documents marred by heat bubbles, wrinkles, or other blemishes? If so, you should tweak your machine's settings. There is a chance your documents won't look the way they should if there is too much heat or not enough. Ensure when necessary to adjust the settings for great results. Here is a guide on the most common lamination problems and how you can easily solve them.

Experiment with Foil Lamination

Finally, experimenting with foil lamination will make your documents stand out. Simply print on your document in Black ink where you want the lamination to stand out and them run it through your laminator with any colour Foil Film. The result is a glamourous document without the cost of foil dies or a foil stamping machine. (To see this process in action, click here to watch the video.) Your documents will definitely be eye-catching.   It's easy to make your laminated documents stand out. Be sure to give the matte or velvet touch film a try. Trim your excess film and adjust your laminator's settings if necessary. If you want to make your work shine, why not give foil lamination a try. Good luck and happy laminating!
