Creative Holiday Crafts
The Holiday Season is upon us! The shopping rush has started and the Holiday décor is up. You can decorate your house with some creativity this year as well as make a few stocking stuffers using small office machines. Here are a few creative holiday crafts

Create Custom Placemats

Your kids can even help with this. Have them create a collage of their favorite Christmas items. Since holiday catalogues are rolling in, pictures aren't hard to find. Use a pouch laminator to encase the final product in plastic, and voila! New holiday placemats for your table. Just make sure not to use any 3D items like macaroni or it will get stuck in the laminator.

Make your own Gift Tags

Do you have last year's pile of cards left over? These can be extras you didn't need or ones that were sent to you. Cut out the pictures to use them as gift tags. If writing is on the back, before using it, glue it on cardstock. To apply to a present, you can punch a hole and use a ribbon to tie the tag on the package.

Save your kids Holiday Artwork

Your cute little munchkins will soon start to come home from school with their Christmas or winter holiday-related artwork. Send them through a laminator and hang them on your wall or put them on your window as a decal instead of stashing them on the refrigerator or storage boxes. Keep the fun pieces with the rest of your decorations when the season is over. Every year they'll make you smile with loving memories when it comes time to decorate.

Make your own Filler Material

Start shredding rather than crumpling tissue paper to pack in those extra spaces in bags or boxes. You can select whatever color you want for your construction paper, and it is more affordable than tissue paper. Once you're done shredding, empty the shreds into a container, then place the colorful paper into your baskets. You can also use newspaper or kraft paper for a more rustic look.

Design your own Stocking Stuffers

Create custom magnets, dry erase sheets, and bookmarks for stocking stuffers. Lamination pouches come in so many sizes it is a great way to make a bookmark for Grandma out of wallet size school pictures or smaller pieces of artwork. Photo magnets also make great stocking stuffers for the rest of your family.

Make Holiday Recipe Cards

If you make certain recipes every year around Thanksgiving and Christmas, gather them all in one place and laminate them. Then punch a hole through one corner and slide a binder ring or Chicago screw through the cards. This is an excellent way to keep it all together and store it with the rest of your holiday items. It also makes a great gift for other family members who often prepare the same dishes.

Create a Photobook

This is a common idea, but still a great one. The best part is, you can create these books from home with an ordinary stapler and a Pinchbook. The binding on these books are spring loaded so all you have to do is staple your sheets together, bend the book covers all the way back, place your book block into the spine and close the covers. Simple photobooks in a variety of sizes for the whole family! If you want to get even fancier, pair it with our layflat hinge paper so the sheets lay perfectly flat when flipped over.     As you can see, you can do a variety of fun crafts at home with everyday office equipment. Many of these machines can be purchased inexpensively for home use as well. Making your very own special holiday crafts entertains your kids and saves you money. Why not get started today?
