5 Ways to Leave a Lasting Impression
We’ve talked about the importance of having the right business card to show off your business, but a business card alone will not turn a prospect into a customer. You’ve been able to get the coveted meeting with your prospect (or even better, the decision maker) and now you need to turn on your ‘A’ game. You’ve done your research, put together a comprehensive report to show them why they should choose your company and then put it all together with a shiny silver staple and you’re ready for the meeting… Wait, that doesn’t seem right. You’ve spent all this time putting together this proposal and you’re just going to hand it to them like that? With only a measly little staple holding it together? Never underestimate the power of having the right package for your presentation. You need to put your presentation together in a way that conveys how much time and effort you have spent on it. Plus, you don’t want to run the risk of having your presentation get lost in the shuffle of papers on their desk, not to mention that most people are shopping around so you will need your presentation to stand out from the others they receive and do the talking for you long after you are gone. So how do you do that? With one of these options:

1. Binding

Choose a binding method of your choice (Plastic Binding, Plastic Coil and Wire are the most popular) then choose a cover, either clear or frosted which will showcase the presentations cover page, or a report cover with your company name and logo foil stamped on it. Don’t forget the back cover to finish it all off.

2. Glue It

Using the Perfect Binding method you can design a custom cover, spine and back tailored specifically for this meeting, print it on your copier using 11” x 17” paper (or bigger depending on how large the presentation is) and then glue your presentation inside.

3. Tape It

This method will give you that “Book” look similar to a perfect bound book but without the extra time of designing the outside covers. With tape strips the same material and colours as report covers you can create a seamless look. Don’t forget the foil stamped covers to make your report shine.

4. Case It

Create a general design advertising what your company has to offer on a casemade binder and the binders will be able to be used for any presentation you have. All you would need to do is insert your report into the desired number of binders needed and take it with you. This also ensures your presentation will be able to be easily seen on a shelf or desk.

5. Put it in your Pocket

Twin Pocket Folder that is. This works the same way as the binder, just simply come up with a generic design for the outside and then each presentation you do can be inserted into the folder and presented at your meeting. Don’t forget to include business card slits on the inside so they can always find your contact information. All of these options can be created to your exact specifications with finishes as unique as your business. Plus, any of them will certainly add to your chances of success in turning that prospect into a lifelong client.
