Like many people, you might be working from home for the foreseeable future. Other than the basics like a desk, computer and chair, here are some other essentials you will need to keep your Home Office running smoothly

  1. Small Office Supplies

This one might seem pretty obvious, but it is essential nonetheless. You are going to need pens, paper clips, highlighters, stapler, hole punch, lined note pads and post-it notes.

  1. Printer, Paper and Toner

Many homes don’t have printers anymore, but as much as we love technology, sometimes you need to have that information printed out.

  1. Binders and Tabs

Now that you have papers everywhere, you are going to need a way to organize and reference them easily. Binders with a Clear View front and spine can be customized so you can spot exactly what you need, when you need it. Plus, our Index Tabs sets are sold per each, so you never have to worry about storing extra inventory in your Home Office.

  1. File Pockets and Folders

Need to store smaller groups of papers or don’t have the room for Binders? File pockets and folders are a great alternative that take up very little space. Plus, they look a lot more organized than a pile of papers on your desk.

  1. USBs & External Hard Drives

E-mails are great, but when you need to transport a large amount of information quickly and safely, you’re going to need a USB (available with different levels of encryption). Pair it with an external hard drive to store all your back ups and your Home Office is ready for anything the virtual world throws at you.

  1. Envelopes and Labels

You are going to need a way to send items (like those USBs) to your main office, suppliers, and customers. This means having envelopes, courier bags and labels to put on them so you don’t have to write every address out by hand.

  1. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Ensure your space is clean with wipes and cleaners that are certified by Health Canada (don’t forget about those electronics either). Keep sanitizer on hand for those times when you do come into contact with items that have come from outside or when you have to go out and don’t have access to soap and water.

  1. Air Purifier

You need to have a fresh, dust and virus free environment in order to stay on top of your health and keep up with work demands. A small air purifier (such as the Ideal LUFT Pro for 300 sq ft) is all you need to keep your space a germ free zone.

  1. Small Office Equipment

The goal is to have all the conveniences of the Main Office, in your Home Office. So things like folders, shredders, pouch laminators and book binders are a must. These items come in small entry level units, so you won’t break the bank (or run out of space).

  1. Cushions and Supports

You might not have access to a high-quality office chair like you are used to and sitting for long periods can wreak havoc on your body. Make any chair comfortable in your Home Office with a Ergonomic Memory Foam seat cushion and a lumbar back support. These are both transportable so you can easily switch them to any chair in your house. Don’t forget your feet with an Ergonomic Rocking Footrest that not only reduces muscle strain, it also helps blood circulation.

  1. Laptop Stand

Let’s be honest, your Laptop is great for convenience but not very ergonomically correct. Fix that with an Angled Laptop Stand. Not only will your back and shoulders thank you, but so will your computer as the propped-up position lets the fan run without being covered. Perfect for those long conference calls.
